@Taskerland There's a lot of competing techniques now in drama and methods, but if you did into a roleplay methods book of the 60s and 70s it's very much all the joke characters people mocked in Sitcoms in the 70s and 80s (or playschool) and I think that lead to a bit of a pivot towards wanting to bee seen as serious and method.I quite like the idea of a Warm Up in an RPG though. Ten minutes at the start "Right everyone pretend to hate ceilings really hard, what do you say?"

My main gig is finance. I’m also an avid gamer.Put those together and, yeah, I end up looking at video games like case studies. It’s just how I’m built. When I play something, I want to know who made it, why they made specific choices, and which of those choices came from creative vision versus business reality.LinkedIn saw that pattern and apparently decided, “Chris, you’re clearly a rising power player in the gaming industry.” So now my gaming posts get pushed straight into the feeds of actual game executives.The result: a flood of comments and messages. Pitches. Meeting requests. People assuming I’m a decision-maker.And then I have to gently break it to them, “I’m not your target. I’m not in the industry. I’m just a guy who likes talking about video games.”Honestly, it feels like that Seinfeld episode where Kramer wanders into a corporate job and everyone just rolls with it.I’ve never developed a game in my life. I’m simply someone who pores over balance sheets for work… then unwinds by picking up a controller.

@stux mostly WW2, and thanks to a strongly encouraged teacher who still had active memories on the last war years as a child, we also learned a lot about the time in between the wars and the rise of fascism, although this was not encouraged by the curriculum.As I'm German, it was strongly focused on German politics.

@nev@flipping.rocks Thank you—this reply is much more constructive and far less dismissive than what you said earlier. I agree that thousands of solo PeerTube instances aren’t viable. It’s not affordable, and it’s not sustainable for creators or admins. That’s exactly why I’m advocating a different model: a federated video co-op where people pool their resources and become member-owners of the service. Collective ownership solves the storage and sustainability problem in a way scattered solo servers can’t. This is what we’re building with the Federated Video Co-op Initiative, and the first service we plan to support is PeerTube.

Word of advice: if you don’t like a dev, and you don’t want people using their project, there are only three constructive paths: suggest an alternative start an alternative fork an alternative For example, I had serious concerns about Soapbox and the developer behind it. So did plenty of others. What happened? Someone forked it into Mangane, and now I use it with Akkoma. Problem solved, need still met. What you shouldn’t do is tell people that the need itself isn’t viable and shouldn’t be attempted. All that does is push them back toward walled gardens owned by X or Meta. It doesn’t help anyone move toward the Fediverse. At the very least, if someone asks about alternatives, offer actual, actionable advice.

Happy to see the perennial brassicas / tree collards at my family's thriving so well! They're almost half as tall as I am!These are a mix of the EFN's perennial kale grex and open-pollinated seeds from the "Michigan" strain from Project Tree Collard. They should be able to survive 0-10°F (-18°C to -12°C) and will hold well into winter.
