So a unified brand identity was inevitable even if TSR had survived. And, despite the original pulp fantasy making D&D popular, the more publicly palatable vanilla high fantasy would likely have been the choice for TSR going forward. I mean, that’s the way it is right now. The grit never really returned from 2e onward.
