...you know, I am used to #scammer on #DatingApp s. But someone just tried to pull the same methods on me here on Mastodon - requesting to "trade pictures" without giving any actual reason for doing so and then asking me to connect with them on #WhatsApp .Which I find profoundly irritating. I mean, on dating apps the goal _is_ to connect to other people via direct, person-to-person communication. So scams in this vein _make sense_ over there, as irritating as they are. But that is _not_ generally the point of Mastodon and the Fediverse (except maybe that one "Fediverse dating app" that went nowhere).
