@SJohnRoss @Taskerland I find theory helps me move from "I don't like your game and you don't like mine" to "here are things we both like, so a game that does those specifically is one we can play together".
@vincew Given the genre it's trying emulate, going crazy or getting horribly killed is just part and parcel of this particular game (sort of a less genteel Call of Cthulhu). I know it's possible, but a long term campaign with characters who actually survive the whole thing would seem to be a relative rarity.
