@equilibrium@urusai.social it’s difficult to be true to your core self and control how others perceive you at the same time. It’s generally not worth worrying about, especially when others start trying to define how much you are worth.

@NullNowhere oh, thats very sad! but i guess i worry a lot about that indeed. gonna learn to by myself instead then! how do i do it tho?

@equilibrium@urusai.social I'm not a great teacher in that regard. But I think it helps to have a strong sense of yourself, your own personal values and likes, a jealous sense of what your time and person is worth, a preconceived notion of what you and will not do before someone challenges it, and a mindset to be on the look out for when people are trying to change all those things to their personal benefit. Often, people respect these qualities on their own, and the people that don't aren't usually worth the time.
