Why do I read YouTube comments?
Maya Higa works with animals and rescues and as an educator. As I like to be educated I watch her videos sometimes. They are honestly pretty good. Though I more avoid the influencer side (she knows one of the groups and uses that to get her sanctuary funded. I think that is more than fair!).
She recently went around to various cool places in the country. Animal related. So she was talking about bears and some factoids and stuff. Kind of a cute (the bears!) video with some neat facts.
Some dipshit had go “why aren’t polar bears, the most dangerous bear, called white bear????”.
Took me two minutes to find out why. Because a dude named them that in 1771… ice and white bear are other common names.
I don’t know if it’s humans or bots or agents or agent bots. But it’s just stupid.
Just watch the videos and get educated.

@yon@sakurajima.moe I mean even before the age of AI the YouTube comment section was known as a cesspit devoid of intelligence.
