I am having a hell of a days-after fridge logic moment, but... Is Daredevil Born Again trying to make a point that the best defense New Yorkers have against Kigpin are... the superwealthy elites? It sure looks like it.

@dawngreeter Are you talking about the fundraiser scene in episode 6? If they provide any defense at all to Fisk, it's inadvertent, because all of them are clearly motivated by ego and self-interest, not the good of the city or its populace.

@Tim_Eagon Oh for sure, yes, they mind a newcomer who isn't part of their club.
But I can not imagine anything after that scene is going to benefit the Newyorkers as much as the outcome of that scene did.

@dawngreeter The point is that both factions are evil. They may not work together and be at odds, but that doesn't make things better for New Yorkers. If anything that just puts the innocent in the crossfire.

@Fedifensor I feel like that is what we are meant to think and that is definitely how I watched it in the moment. But in retrospect I don't think there was anything actually provided to support it.
If you don't bring in outside assumptions, the show only presents them as so far the only notable obstacle Kingpin encountered. Aloof and vain for sure, but that's it.

@dawngreeter No, I don't think the rich will save the MCU's version of NYC! What's interesting though is that at some level Fisk seems to genuinely care.
