Since I will soon embark on my first vacation in #Italy in more than 30 years, it occurs to me that I should have something appropriate to read in the evenings.

Thus, can you recommend me any books about the #history of Italy (national or regional) that are available as EPUB files without DRM? (I am _not_ looking for pirated books, but I want to avoid the DRM-locked walled gardens as much as possible.)

Also, they should be in either German or English - my reading comprehension of Italian is getting slowly better, but it's still nowhere near "leisure reading" level.

EDIT: Also, the book should be about _Italy_, not the Roman period!
