    Trump's DOJ released a thing about Epstein's death the other day saying there's no evidence he killed himself and there's no client list.

    Since then I've seen a lot of people, especially people on the left and center, saying it's all a lie and Epstein was definitely murdered.

    I need you to know how dangerous that kind of thinking is.

    Conspiracy belief is never contained. You can't hold *just one* conspiracy theory belief because they link together to explain themselves. Eventually, as we see with the right, you end up believing all kinds of ridiculous bullshit until your reasoning is completely divorced from reality.

    And that part isn't contained to one political belief system. Conspiracy thinking is acid to any kind of internal logic. You will find yourself making shit up on the spot to justify continuing to believe in something *simply because it makes you feel good.*

      Is it possible someone murdered Epstein in his cell? Sure. It's intensely unlikely given the evidence we do have and the circumstances as described. But it's *possible.*

      But conspiracy theories aren't Conspiracy Theories™ because of their truth or fiction or even because of their probability. They're Conspiracy Theories™ because it doesn't *matter* to people who believe them if it's true or not.

      The truth, the *actual verifiable truth* should matter to you.

        Anyway. Donald Trump's a convicted sex offender even if he never spent time with Epstein. You don't need there to be a client list to know that he's a shitheel and unworthy of leadership.

        Keep the acid off your brain.

          @CactuarJoe

          thanks for speaking to this, i agree with you, altho i've felt increasingly uncomfortable about saying anything about it since the murder theory is so "popular" even among intelligent people

          i just can't figure out what they think Epstein had to live for or what their evidence for the murder theory is other than they don't like the timing...

            @peachfront Yeah. Alas, the logic of it just doesn't matter, it's a belief that *feels* right, so a lot of people are gonna chase it. 😕
