    @inthehands @feznander They tried to get into the Catholic Charities homeless shelter in downtown St. Paul this morning, got chased off because they lacked a warrant, and promised to "come back with a team".

    @MrFesser @inthehands @feznander I love how the "we're a Christian nation" imbeciles have absolutely zero respect for certain religious institutions. Hypocrisy thy name is ICE.

      This morning, ICE was staking out an elementary school bus stop here in Minneapolis. A crowd with whistles chased them off.

      Just in case you somehow thought they were leaving Minnesota.

      Just in case Senators somehow thought maybe it’s OK to give them a military-sized budget after all just because they demoted that one guy.

      @inthehands thinking by this time, you are on a first-name basis with your Senators

      but your descriptions of this awfulness are very poignant and moving. thanks for making what's happening real to the rest of us, without making it outrage-shock posts, and I hope you are relaying these reports to them too.

        I’m on a first-name basis with their voicemail anyway

          Driving my kid to school today, we passed a crowd on a street corner. She asked what they were doing. I said my guess was that it’s observers conferring about ICE.

          That wasn’t really a guess What I knew that she didn’t know is that they were gathering because somebody was just abducted there.

          With these recent days of news showing that the Trump regime is on their heels about ICE, my refrain has been: “It’s working. Punch harder.”

          Last night I let myself savor the “It’s working” part for a few happy minutes, but this morning I’m squarely focused on “Punch harder.”

            @inthehands of course it's working. Beating fascists is all about solidarity, community, not backing down and staying in the fight. You're doing great!

              @inthehands Harassing a retreat is mandatory to ensure it remains a retreat and not a regroup.

                Exactly. Our neighborhood ICE observers have a •keen• understanding of this principle. I can only hope the general public and our elected officials do too.

                  @inthehands @draNgNon

                  I assume that the staffers handling voice mail for McCollum, Klobuchar, and Smith go "this guy again" at my messages.

                  But they do log the calls.

                    @MrFesser @inthehands Yeah, and it sounds like the team that came back was mostly US Marshals, and told observers that it wasn't immigration-related. I'm pretty confident local dispatches will recognize that federal kidnap squads are federal kidnap squads and respond accordingly, but it's going to take some pivoting, and put pressure on keystone immigrant rights groups, who'll have to decide what resources they can keep dedicating to support/training as response work overflows their lane.

                      @MrFesser @inthehands Plus I'm worried that Feds will push more of the funding for kidnap out to state and local law enforcement, and it's going to be hard to convince elected officials to turn off all those taps.
