Okay since the Fedi guppy groups are gone and the new groups are still very small, I'm doing a new #introduction

Okay since the Fedi guppy groups are gone and the new groups are still very small, I'm doing a new #introduction
I'm Mar, a future SFF and #historicalfiction indie author who reads Arabic, Chinese, English and French. I post a lot about #medieval #history and the books that I'm writing.
I also have a blog that I sometimes post on for longer historical musings.
I know about @histodons and @militaryhistory and am looking to #follow more historical and writer accounts.
Boosts are appreciated.

Welcome!
My own historical research focuses on the context of the German folk tales I translate, but I try to learn about history outside of Central Europe, too.

@juergen_hubert Thank you! Your work looks amazing. Excited to see more of it!

Thanks! I'm currently trying to build a wiki with my translations, but it will take me a few months until I have put all of the tales up there.
By the way, I noticed that you are also using a WordPress blog like I do. Have you considered installing the ActivityPub plugin for it? This way, your blog entries will be directly shared to the Fediverse - and Fediverse users can comment on them directly, without having to log on to a separate system.

@juergen_hubert I did not know this existed. Thank you, I'm saving this post for later when I'm on my laptop!

It's very useful - I can search for my blog posts by URL in the Mastodon search interface, and they will show up as shareable, comment-able posts. And the comments show up directly on my blog as well!

@juergen_hubert Thank you once again. This sounds so much more efficient than just sharing blog links like I've been doing.

This only seems to work for posts you publish after the plugin is installed, however.
