I'm in a month-long novella writing sprint for a chance to publish at the end and I have to post something about it every day on IG so the publisher sponsoring it also gets free promo. it feels like a win-win but writing is really so much self-marketing these days. all that said I do enjoy being part of the sprint group there are so many cool ideas.

@agasramirez There is a reason where I went straight for Print On Demand self-publishing rather than bothering with a publisher.
