@rufustheduck Cats are the opposite of hidden on here! What a beauty, btw -- can't beat a black cat

@TheDonsieLass I agree. So does Max
-
@rufustheduck I’d reply with Malik
sleeping, but he’s black with white spots, on a black mattress, in a dark room with only very very dim ambient light as I’m winding down for bed… so, a smartphone camera will not be able to pick anything discernable.@mirabilos I know how you feel. This is a very rare shot where Max is visible

I've not experienced social media like this before. People seeing my posts? And replying? Madness! And no robot deciding that my #cats won’t infuriate anyone and so hiding them?
The people here have been super nice too. Sharing their own cats, giving me helpful tips, and replying with positivity. You're a real likeable bunch of weirdos
So I'll probably stick around, if that's okay….?
Here's another picture of Max sleeping... OR IS HE?
@rufustheduck 🥳 welcome!
-
@rufustheduck here ya go.

@DrSuzanne wonderful!
-
@rufustheduck It's a surprisingly friendly place! I'm hoping it stays that way. You do run into the occasional jerk, but I just mute them and move along. And there are a LOT of helpful people here.
@Quasit that sounds like a wise approach
-
@rufustheduck I don't have a cat, so here's my gecko .

@OndrejZizka awesome
-
@rufustheduck Wait - I have to reply - My cat name is Rufus! Here is a picture of him

@havchr excellent cat with an excellent name
-
@rufustheduck That cat is looking at you sleepily and with love.
@jeanthejust I hope so!
-
@rufustheduck @CrushingFlightoftheOwlbear Gunther would like to say hello to Max!

@KingShawn fantastic! Hello right back!

@rufustheduck @jemmesedi Re: Mastodon. I had the same (positive) experience. Once I really decided to get off the bird site, and put a modicum of effort into posting and replying, I quickly made connections, and found interesting people to follow. I did not feel like it was hard to find interesting people here, as some report. I just started with a few accounts, and it expanded organically. Glad to hear that you're enjoying your time on Mastodon

@girlbandgeek I've found exactly the same. There are interesting people everywhere
