    @stux I registered my domain under .media. Not only does it work, but it was relatively cheap!

        @stux

        LOL

        i'm not a huge fan of the huge TLD expansion in 2014 and certain TLDs like .top seem to be nothing but cruft/grift but there's definitely a place for something beyond .org/.net/.com and folks that hard code web forms and don't allow emails from any valid TLD should be spanked and educated.

            @stux I've never seen a .biz I'd trust, it always seems to be the online equivalent of a bloke selling stuff out of the back of a dirty van with one smashed headlight.

              @woe2you That’s very true!

              But I’ve also never seen a sketchy .social in return so far😸

                @stux The existence of .social is great for the Fediverse.

                (Had to switch to PC, trying to discuss TLDs is a pain in the dick on my phone. No, I'm not trying to end the sentence you stupid device)

                  @stux Many type related websites like foundries have been opting for .xyz because the desired domain was squatted or expensive.
                  Unfortunately scammers and spammer also use .xyz because of its cheap price and high availability. Leading to .xyz being added to many block lists.

                  Another case is .art that is offered by providers but will lead to error during the check up process. It only is sold through a price hiking venture.

                  Whatever TLD you are having in mind, I recommend to research such disadvantages first.

                      @stux I manage the domains for the company that I work for and that balance of the support of the registrar and new TLDs is annoying. 1200 something domains as a combination of: TLDs, misspellings, initiatives. it’s a pain. Every new one is, do I need to make a new account? What requirements? How good is the actual registrar? (Sigh)
