@vkc @mntmn As someone who has worked with people who would literally just send cryptic one-liner emails, I'd still completely prefer that to smarmy, overly-verbose slop text!

@jaredwhite And if you get a short, cryptic email that makes no sense, at least you *know* that it makes no sense and can act accordingly. As opposed to something where a LLM has taken the same nonsensical input and extruded something that *appears* to make sense but which might very well not be at all what the person who sent it intended! (Or it might be. It's just impossible to know.)

@yetzt on the other hand even Emojipedia says it's come to refer to companies using so-called AI.

@vkc @yetzt I've only just now realized that the sparkles character is NOT THE SAME as the fireworks character. 🤦‍♂️

@vkc I think this is a great idea and your new emoji fits perfectly!

Yes, I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. Definitely a throwback to the "please don't print this email" days and makes a tiny statement about who I am as a person.

Plus it encourages everyday folks who want to resist so-called AI but don't know how to get started.

Thank you so much for the idea @mntmn !

@vkc @mntmn I was just thinking about how to word a signature like this a few minutes ago. #noSlop will be the problem of this year in corporate environments as all colleagues go through their individual AI learning processes.

So I just combined the OpenMoji for "prohibited" with the OpenMoji for "sparkle" and it makes a pretty convincing "no AI" sign. I put it up on Codeberg if you want it.

I was inspired by @mntmn 's "using AI wastes a lot of energy" email signature idea.

So I just combined the OpenMoji for "prohibited" with the OpenMoji for "sparkle" and it makes a pretty convincing "no AI" sign. I put it up on Codeberg if you want it.

@vkc @mntmn Do not embrace "sparkle = Slopmachine" reclaim the SPARKLE!

@vkc @mntmn Genius ! I'll put it in my work signature. (Yes, for real)

                                        Thanks to both of you!
