    Once you get past the silly short-sightedness of American Eagle having a eugenics adjacent, dog-whistley "Is it? Isn't it? Nod nod, wink wink!" campaign...

    You notice that the clothes just aren't good.🤷🏿‍♂️

    Sydney Sweeney has really accomplished something by finding clothes that make her look bad.

    They really tried though. "Start by zooming in on her chest! Then her butt! And bare feet! The kids like feet these days!🤡" Clothes still look bad.

    But fair play to American Eagle. They have the attention they want.

    Not the Sydney Sweeney attention. The 4chan/jan 6/pro ICE attention.

    If the campaign increases sales, they can say, "It worked!"

    If it doesn't increase sales, they can say, "I'm being boycotted! I'm being attacked by the left! They hate our freedom!"

    When the reality is that the clothes are basic, and only fashy people want to be associated with fashy brands.

      @mekkaokereke

      Did you see my post about this? How did they find pants that make her legs look short?

      myrmepropagandist (@futurebird@sauropods.win)

      I made this post: https://sauropods.win/@futurebird/114931976378124189 *before* hearing about the Sydney Sweeney controversy. Maybe some of you thought this was about that? It wasn't. But I do think "something is in the air." In the zeitgeist. To summarize: Actress Sydney Sweeney just made a commercial for American Eagle. It echos an infamous 1980 commercial by then underage supermodel Brooke Shields. This is the original ad. "good jeans" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXzR5b6HoIA 1/

      There are some remarkable traditions in jeans and western clothing... why not tap into them? "jeans and jeans" will never work. Here are some better tops. Both controversial and exciting.

      What if the clothing was as polarizing as the ad copy?

      They want to do eugenic chic? (please dont)
      Maybe go full "mail order bride"
