My daughter’s soccer team won their first game this afternoon (they’ve tied twice) 16-0. As the keeper, she touched the ball one time and didn’t have to make any saves. It was kind of a slump buster, so hopefully they can carry that momentum forward!

@Tim_Eagon My eldest was goalkeeper all the way through his school days. It was noticeable that he enjoyed games that were closer as he had more to do, especially on colder mornings!

@cybergoths Oh, my daughter was so bored. She basically stood there doing nothing for 80+ minutes.

@Tim_Eagon I found that the only time the keeper gets ‘player of the match’ award is when their side is outclassed and they end up making the defeat a lot less painful with some saves. Oh, and winning penalty shootouts.
