Canadian parliament gives standing ovation to honor Charlie Kirk.

You cannot be a good person and a nazi, you are still a nazi.
Of course he isn’t a good person, he is a fucking Nazi and deserved what he got
I think the point is that just about everybody who thinks this was a good guy is like a Christian; they’ve only been fed the positive parts and blurps, and are wholly ignorant of the dark side of the subject because they were never shown what it really was about

Misleading title. Yes, Charlie Kirk’s assassination sparked a conversation about the importance of free speech and disavowing political violence. The standing ovation was not for Charlie, but for the outcome of that speech.
Still, you’d think they’d at least TRY to be reasonable with the optics of the conversation.
Our country is governed by chronic losers and fucking idiots.

Sorry I’m a xis make the current NDP doesn’t want me there is no fucking way I’m voting for them.

Disgusting.

The liberals did not give a standing ovation to charlie kirk. It was performative political theatre from the cons. A conservative MP made a statement praising kirk, framing kirk as a beacon of family values. The liberals could rise to support those values or remain sitting and be accused of supporting political violence. It was a no win situation set up by the cons. The next day the libs had a “standing ovation”. If you are outraged by the story ask yourself who wins from your outrage.

What is with all this ‘deserved what he got’ insanity? I know it’s the internet and all, but calm down. He was a person, flawed just like the rest of us. He had views that many of us found disagreeable, just like everyone else.
Black people are upset that he died, gay people are upset that he died, trans people are upset that he died; why? Because he wasn’t some evil extremist calling for violence. He was a moderate and calling for debate.
Where is all this hate towards Kirk coming from? And please don’t cherry pick a handful of out of context quotes. There are thousands of hours of video discrediting all these random quotes people are using to showcase his villainy.

If I hear anyone ranting about family/traditional values Im just going to cut to the chase and assume you consume Russian origin propaganda by the barrel-load. Nobody pushes that stuff harder than them. No one stands to gain from the chaos it creates in the west, more than them.

I think you mean “cis male” and holy fuck, brother, you need to get out of whatever nasty echo-chamber you’re in. I’m a cis male, I’m even tall, strong, white, and from a pretty well-off family, and yet I don’t feel the least bit alienated by them. Hell, I once had a firearms license and I drive a sportscar and motorcycles and shit, and I repair things with my own hands. And yet I feel perfectly fine and secure with the NDP platform and messaging. I’m privileged as hell, and I don’t mind losing some of my undeserved advantage so that those without such a headstart can have a better chance. The best part is that I still benefit from those policies, just not directly. When the floor is raised we all do better.
So I guess I’m just curious as to why you would think that they don’t want you.
