At the time @billbrock1958 and I roped in a few other folks to incorporate Chicago Chess Center NFP Inc. as a 501(c)(3), Chicago was the only one of the top 10 most populous cities in America NOT to have a flagship metropolitan chess club, let alone one with its own dedicated space.

I'm not sure what the landscape looks like nowβ€”I've been out of the scene since the Oobit was bornβ€”but it's exciting to learn that, 13 years after we formed CCC, it's finally achieved the goal of creating a new home for chess in Chicago, filling the void left by the shuttering of the Chicago Chess Club (1891–1984).

Congrats to Bill, current president Jonathan Silverstein and all the members of CCC!

And if you'd like to help defray the costs of the move … https://gofund.me/f8710dec
