Instagram occasionally deposits me in weird areas I wouldn't pay attention to and this morning it is men's fashion.

What is amazing about that field is a complete lack of context. They're like arguing about tie-knots and button materials but nobody is addressing the semiotics of wearing a sage-green double breasted suit that costs more than my first car.
Fashion, even siloed, is not neutral. You are putting information into the world when you choose to dress the way you do.
Their rules are completely arbitrary but the rules of cultural semiotics are not.
One bloke was taking someone to task because the collar on his shirt implied American styling while the stripes on his tie implied English styling. Nobody outside of tailors or fashion nerds is going to notice that... But the fact that he was wearing a double-breasted jacket with brass buttons like Alan Partridge at a Golf Club dinner? Everyone will notice that.

@Taskerland Why is instagram taking you to what I can only assume is a fixed island encounter from the Truman Capote version of the Odyssey?
What act of hubris against which suede updated deity led you to this point...

@Taskerland I like to think my sweatpants speak _volumes_ and help keep certain folks at a safe distance.

@Printdevil I don't know! They keep going 'this is a really ugly outfit' and then cutting to an outfit that looks just as silly.

@Taskerland Obviously with my build I prefer an Neapolitan to either of them as I like the whole spalla camicia and the shouldering generally. As I've got older and considerably less thin I suppose I should turn from my beloved Brioni towards something more flattening to my depressed weary slouch... but never towards the Alan Partridge working buttons. What am I a surgeon?
Bonne Chance!

And I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad
The posts about sex juice I'm reading are the best I've ever had
They find it hard to sell you and I find it hard to fake
When people critique Piglen Fashions, it's a very, very

@Taskerland Exactly that. That's why all my suits are tri-colour.
