Before we go splitting hairs, please keep in mind conservatives have been systematically attacking our educational system since the mid-50s, and a lot of people wouldn't know who the Hitlerjungend were. Shit, many of us don't even know our OWN history. They whitewashed the hell out of it. We never learned about the Trail of Tears or Tulsa Massacre, and I was born in 1960.

What the actual fuck? ICE has been holding three members of the Oglala Sioux tribe in detention since Friday. Tribal members are US citizens by statute.
Homeland Security is refusing to release any information on these tribal members, other than first names, until the tribe enters into an "immigration agreement" with ICE. Again, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?

The president of the Oglala Sioux Tribe in South Dakota said three of the four tribal members detained by ICE agents in Minneapolis last week have been transferred to an ICE facility and called for their immediate release.

I know a lot because 1) I've always been fascinated with history and had a real thing for learning about the Holocaust -- not morbid curiosity, but more wonder about how a group of people could be so convinced so much wrong was right.....
...and 2) my second husband's parents were both Mischling, living in a suburb of Berlin during WWII, allowed to survive because his dad was a master mechanic. They came here in 1952. 1/2

His mom brought a whole folder of papers with her when they came over. I saw them all. It was appalling and fascinating at the same time. I know the fool here isn't keeping these kinds of records. We may never have the kind of archives the Germans had. People here just disappear. I don't know if that's good or bad. Anyway, I donated the papers to the Florida Holocaust Museum after he died. His family didn't want them.

The average ICE personell does not have to be political operators. It can be assumed that in Nazi Germany, many people doing terrible things didn't hate Jews, still they helped killing them. See also: Hanna Arendt's title “the banality of evil”.
