    This is the movie that reignited Keanu Reeves’ career, turned Sandra Bullock into a superstar, and let Dennis Hopper chew up every scene he touched.

    Sure, the premise is ridiculous. But that’s the point. You don’t watch Speed for realism—you watch it for the thrill. For the impossible stunts. For the moment a bus jumps a freeway gap and somehow sticks the landing. Praise the movie gods.

    And honestly? If you’re firing up a VCR, this is exactly the kind of tape you want spinning.
