Has anyone played Dungeon World? I'm reading the rules because I'm looking for alternatives for our D&D group that might let us have the vibes we love from 5e without some of the drawbacks (such as excessive prep time for the DM).

I understand the mechanical differences, but how does playing it *feel*, compared to playing 5e? Is it good vehicle for fantasy adventure roleplay?

@artemis I’ve played it as one-shots. It captured the mood of D&D while having simple mechanics. #ttrpg

@artemis For fantasy adventure campaigns using #PBtA I enjoyed Fellowship. That game has fun tools to help for a campaign over one-shots. Also, the GM gets to level up their main antagonists as the campaign advances. #ttrpg

@ericmpaq @artemis Realms of Peril is basically a modern version of D&D that uses PBTA-like mechanics. It may also be worth checking out, especially because I think it is more similar to 5e than DW 1e.

Ooh! Checking out both Fellowship and Realms of Peril now! Turns out I own Fellowship on Drive-Thru-RPG, and had forgotten about it entirely! (Probably bought it as part of a bundle)
