A new vision for a borderless symposium - International Science Council

The International Sociological Association (ISA) learned a hard lesson from empty conference rooms at a 2023 hybrid event in Australia. As part of the ISC project Science organizations in the digital age, they took on the challenge of planning a fully online 2026 symposium. What started as finding the right platform became something more valuable: creating a practical toolkit for inclusive virtual events that puts members first, especially those who face barriers to travel.
