**Is there someone who currently has a dedicated server via #Hetzner?
I have tried using volumes for the database but unfort the read/write speed was too low so Mastodon did not function right
Our current database size is almost 1TB
@stux I have a dedicated server („Serverbörse“) that has 64GB ECC RAM and two SSDs (each 1TB). I pay 40€/month. That is more than enough for my needs. The disks are direct attachment (nvme), so speed is not an issue

Okay so.. within the upcoming days I'm gonna rent and setup a dedicated server for mstdn.social
I will announce when exactly since there will be downtime, also I'll do this at night(for me) since that's often the most quiet moment on our instance
Still have nightmares from the last time I moved this server
But at least I know what not to do! -

Currently I am looking with Hetzner for a dedicated server that fits out infrastructure, if you have a better tip, please let me know! Time is getting limitedIf you can, please think about helping us out this month, hopefully we can slash costs by a massive percentage and have room to gtow for the future

Only ALL or nothing but maybe we can get this into the system

We got a little bit of an issue.. Currently the main server for mstdn.social has just under 48GB disk space left and we cannot upgrade any further since we're at the highest tier
So the only solution would be a dedicated server with a lot more space to grow, within exactly 14 days bills will arrive for all our current servers but I also gotta rent and setup a new server in the meanwhile
Besides that me and my gf are alsomoving soon maybe so i cannot spend all our money on server bills

**the reason we are almost out of disk space is NOT because of media!
All our media gets stored remotely and is basically unlimited mess with space
The main reason is because our database has grown to a huge size and we cannot store that remote like media
I tried volumes but those are not fast enough

@stux hachyderm has been running our db off hetzner dedicated servers for the last few years. pick the one with SSDs, and you should have no issues with speed. i can grab the specs for ours in just a bit.

but the prob is we cannot go higher in SSD volume, we're at the max atm -
