This Sunday at 9pm EST (that's 1am Monday UTC) it's #MONSTERDON the weekly monster movie watch party! Come watch a goofy monster movie with the rest of the fediverse!
This week we're watching LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (1960)! No, that's not the Rick Moranis version, this is the Roger Corman version. Yeah, I'm honestly curious, too. Apparently it was shot in 2 days flat on a budget of less than $30k, so it should be interesting ^^;
The flick's available free with ads over on Tubi: https://tubitv.com/movies/382527/the-little-shop-of-horrors
Or over on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mj_17y6i4O4
Or you can download in advance from Archive.org: https://archive.org/details/the-little-shop-of-horrors-1960-full-movie-hd-1080p-1080-x-1440.mp-4-converted
See you this Sunday!

See you this Sunday!
...Wait, the Corman film is the *original*? I always thought the play came first. Huh.
It's always shocking how often Corman is, like, Hollywood history ADJACENT. His actual work is charitably described as economical and workmanlike -- movies produced to a budget on time, but you don't really hope for more -- but then you'll randomly have him involved in, like, the first appearances of major stars, or the rough draft of a cultural phenomenon. It's like finding out all the Old Masters used the same canvas maker.

See, now I want someone to remake other Corman flicks as musicals. Attack of the Crab Monsters especially. #monsterdon

so Little Shop of Horrors (1960) is NOT a musical? Now I feel bad for voting against it so often...
