        @heidilifeldman I found it very frustrating that this article is littered with reasons why "protest" is not an adequate term to describe what's happening, and yet the author insisted on framing things in terms of protest.

            Complicated response attached — not just the essay but the introductory post — includes "red team" thinking. I don't agree w/ all of it but an interesting perspective. This administration = hostile to most citizens & under control of one individual — petulant, petty, vindictive, grifting, cruel... Policy debate = nonexistent. All USG agencies & branches are seen simply as props to support his agenda. What's next?

                It deeply bugs me that people can call themselves "protectors" with a straight face while carefully *not* actually stopping or hindering ICE, just screaming at them... and they get *praised* for it.
