It’s great to meet at a #FediCon—not necessarily my FediCon—because it’s a reminder that the connections you make here on the Fediverse are real.

Seeing people face-to-face is proof that pluralism can work—and it can even be civil.

Did I disagree with people? Absolutely. Sometimes vehemently. But that friction can lead to better understanding. Sometimes even great ideas.

And most of all, it’s a reminder that we’re all humans—not NPCs—and that’s reason enough to be kind.
