The second album that I purchased today was 色彩を持たないで (Without Color) by the Japanese shoe gaze/dream-pop band Moon in June. I have absolutely no idea what she's singing, but the music is beautiful (similar to my reactions to Alcest).

Asleep 12. ペーパー・ムーン 隆盛極める近年のJAPANESE DREAM POP～SHOEGAZEの中核を担うMoon In June、待望となる2nd Albumをリリース！ 2023年10月に発表した1st Album『ロマンと水色の街』が各所で話題となったMoon In June、前作から約1年半振りとなる2nd Album。 『ロマンと水色の街』で聴かせてくれたスピッツやGalileo Galileiらを想起させる心地よいノスタルジック路線を踏襲しつつも、ダークな翳りを伴ったM-3「踊る魔物」やM-7「Echo Sound Syndrome」、Madchesterや90's UK Rockを彷彿とさせるM-4「The Sky Crawlers」などライヴ映えしそうなAlternative Rock曲も収録され、サウンドの強度が高まっています。 本作は、モノクロとカラーの曖昧な境界線を生きること、そして色を求めたり色に抗ったりして揺れ動くアイデンティティなどをコンセプトにしており、メンバー曰く「聴く人それぞれが自身の『染まらない』部分や『色づいていく』過程に共感できるような作品が生まれたと思います」と語っています。
