The only "good" news is that the US Navy has in the last 10 years really struggled to deliver any new ship on time and on budget; which means the likelihood of any of these monstrosities making it to sea before this guy croaks is low.

And when he's gone, hopefully someone smarter in the Navy toss the half-formed plans in the dustbin.
