So I really enjoyed #fedicon. I am an outsider to the Fediverse’s development, but it has some truly inspiring people and amazing developers.

Some observations.

Many speakers would say things like “I think the Fediverse should have a billion people on it” or “We’ve gone as far as we can with developers’ spare time; we need real sources of funding” and then wait, bracing for outraged screams from the audience. That never came.

That tells me what fediverse development online spaces are like.
