    Was I the only viewer reminded more of Flash Gordon than of Star Wars? (I have to admit I did not read all of the thousands of toots about #StarCrash #Monsterdon .)

      @izzaboo It shared some of the same art deco styling and the same fine disregard for physics. And yet somehow “Flash Gordon” worked because it understood how to be consistent within its own universe while #Starcrash was just an amazing random amalgamation of sci-fi images and notions glued together. #Monsterdon

        Flash Gordon and Starcrash are like two racecars approaching a deadly turn at top speed. One car just barely manages to stay on the track and make the turn, and the other car is Starcrash.
