    And this is coming from a woman who divorced her first husband because he was physically abusive towards her.

    I am not saying this contradicts you because you're probably correct. I am saying it because some women who have faced the worst kind of abuse *still* feel a strong need to defend patriarchy.

      Yeah my mother was also the "I'll vote for who he tells me and really a household vote like Switzerland makes a lot of sense" type.

      My guess is that those women would watch the plain old mormosphere type stuff where people have gigantic spotless kitchens in the middle of their husband's family's ranch. You get plenty of husband worship content there, or from the new TSwift album.

      I would guess "defending men" is more likely straight fan service.

        @eestileib Fan service is a good way of putting it.

        “Defending men” is like “defending Christmas”. The best way to defend a hegemony is to present it as fragile and under threat.
