Mowing the lawn at 8am so I don't die of heatstroke and the brain slowly cooks anyway, driven by the sheer pointless monotony

@CactuarJoe Data, after being told to touch grass, for sure.
"I have executed a flawless checker pattern, and I have touched the grass itself in both its cut and uncut states, but I remain uncertain of the benefit I am meant to gain from this experience."
@jwisser Perfect.

The less obvious answer: The Doctor. Maybe he tried a historical simulation while building that holodeck family of his. The 1950s were the height of The Nuclear Family, maybe he gave it a shot.
But probably just once.
The stupid answer: Jack Ransom. He's just enough of a himbo to use it as a workout and treat it like a Zen experience.

And slowly but surely I start to ponder a deranged idea:
Which #StarTrek characters, if any, would mow a lawn?
@CactuarJoe Data if asked. Wesley if not lethally culpable. chekov but only to prove Russian lawnmower superiority. Worf if his parents asked. Tom Paris because Tom Paris.
You get the idea

@xerozohar Oh man, can you imagine trying to get a Klingon teenager to mow the lawn? Worf's mother was a goddamn saint, I tell you what.

@CactuarJoe ayup

The obvious answer: Boothby. He'd be horrified by suburban lawns -- somehow both wasteful and ill-kept, somehow both large enough to be ugly and small enough to be useless -- but would enjoy mowing the large lawns at the Academy where they hold events.
@CactuarJoe O'Brian. Before he met Julian his prime holodeck activity was mowing various historical lawns. Maybe that's how he met his wife - he needed an expert to help with an invasive plant species that was cropping up in one of his simulations and she was the one who offered to take a look at it

@DrakkenZero Now *THAT* I buy.

@CactuarJoe Picard would. Didn't he retire to a vineyard for a while?

@CactuarJoe I think Billips would garden.

@BackFromTheDud I could see that, a nice post-retirement hobby.

@StumpyTheMutt Actually now that I think about it, I'm not sure Chateau Picard had a lawn at all.
