@stux The truly tragic part of this is the GOP could stop the tariff insanity dead in its tracks in 24 hours if they gave the slightest damn about stabilizing the market. They don't even need to care about the nation or the people, just their own investment portfolios.

@stux I think they just don't believe that tariffs are a way to get _your own_ consumers to buy less from other countries, not a way to force other countries (or sellers in other countries) to pay anything.

@stux They will be smart about it, won't just slap tariffs on evetything. They also won't make deals with Trump, they know he obviously can't be trusted. They will make deals with each other. So while the US gradually fades into irrelevance the rest of the world will advance. Maybe its time anyway.
