While I was on a trip over the weekend, I finished reading a review copy of Lessons in Magic and Disaster by Charlie Jane Anders.

I really liked it, especially the messy ways all the relationships got into how history rhymes if it doesn't repeat itself.

Lessons in Magic and Disaster by Charlie Jane Anders

I’ve really enjoyed reading works by Charlie Jane Anders in the past. I first came across her work in around 2010 as io9 gave me a view into what I should be reading as I got back into science fiction as a reader. I also really enjoyed Anders’ All the Birds in the Sky around the same time. So I was really excited when Tor Books approved me to get a copy of Anders’ latest book Lessons in Magic and Disaster through Netgalley.

Having finished Lessons in Magic and Disaster, I've got a little time for reading T. Kingfisher's Nettle and Bone before I really should get into Death of the Author by Nnedi Okorafor for my monthly SFF book club at the library.
