@carcosa Recent events has convinced me that the most unrealistic thing about Illuminati conspiracy theories is that people are shit at keeping secrets. Like, a lot of what's coming out of things with Epstein mostly just confirm the shit we already knew. We may not have known all the members or the true extent of the weirdly sexual (particularly in the few ways nearly all of us can agree is gross) nature of it all, but we all knew there was a class of people with way more power than any group should have who basically ruled the world without having to be party to a specific nation's government. The right-aligned people thought it was a cabal of highly educated neolibs, the left-aligned thought it was oil barons and megachurch pastors. Turns out, it was both. It skewed towards oil barons and megachurch pastors, but that seems to mostly just be the right being more gullible on average than the left.
