I read that "Full Fathom Five" was a really good Call of Cthulhu Module.

I read that "Full Fathom Five" was a really good Call of Cthulhu Module. I need a one-shot, so I said sure. Bought and read it.
...and outside of flavor I'm ... highly underwhelmed?
The killing problem with this module is that it is a hard core railroad. There is nothing the players can really do to influence the outcome in most scenes. There is no way to avoid the ending, and the only thing that changes is what flavor text the players get when the thing happens.
The players really read like passengers here; the author claims to be mimicking the helpless feeling of slasher movies, which cool... but not really.
So I've promised my players something nautical, and now I have to figure out how to run this module in a way that doesn't make me cringe.

#TTRPG #CallofCthulhuThere is also not much to "investigate" here.
They can ask around, learn about the the characters, but ... still. It's a pretty weak investigation. I feel like the players will just be going
Scripted-scene -> Boat life -> Scripted Scene -> Boat life ...
