That is an awesome kiln and your father doesn't look old enough to be an octogenerian...

@ethanschoonover I kinda see myself in this pic, 30 years from now ๐Ÿ˜‚

I don't do pottery and I don't have a kiln, but our abandoned earth cellar at the end of a tunnel looks quite similar. One could certainly set up a credible dungeon trading point in there. And I have plenty of time to learn pottery as well, although the exact trade is negotiable I suppose ๐Ÿ˜…

@hiisikoloart @ethanschoonover your sleepy eyes do not deceive you: this dwarven shopkeep has made his kiln into a stall. Mayhaps the heavy kiln door keeps out the monsters roaming this dungeon, mayhaps he just finds his kiln homely and cozy.

@hiisikoloart @ethanschoonover to make new earthenware the shopkeep must vacate the premises of his precious kiln for many hours. He lives in the constant delicate balance of having to expose himself to the lurking dangers of the dungeon in order to create new wares to sell.

Mayhaps he should hire some brave adventurers to keep him safe during those excursions. (^_^) Or a pet. Tamed monster, perhaps?

@calvinball Okay, that is legitimately a great idea for the basis of a video game. That's a compelling mechanic.
