We absolutely do not talk enough about how War is good for absolutely nothing.

As Phil Ochs says "It's always the old to lead us to the wars. Always the young to fall."

War is what powerful people do to gain something they want at the expense of countless "disposable" lives.

War is a perpetual scam. War is the ultimate in exploitation.

There is nothing glorious on a battlefield. Just waste. Horrible, horrible waste.

Fuck every single war movie which glorifies the bloodshed. Fuck every notion of "glory" on the battlefield. Fuck it all.

The Glory of War is a vicious lie.

Throughout history people have made this discovery for themselves, over & over & over: war is the most wasteful, dishonorable thing imaginable, & to welcome it is terrible folly.

It is always the result of selfishness, cruelty, & greed.

In America, war & battle are glorified in obscene ways, & it is a huge part of what's killing us. The glory of battle is a fiction intended to keep poor young people killing & dying for the benefit of rich people.

There is no glory in killing & destruction.

The people who proliferate destruction around the globe may force our hand, it's true. You can't get free of violent oppressors without violence, but that is THEIR choice.

We can honor those who live & die in the pursuit of liberty without glorifying the horrible circumstances that cost them everything. Always remember the violence is a choice made by the oppressors. It will always be ugly, always a scourge. Don't ever romanticize it.
