GodsArena Online is my latest attempt at getting into MMORPGs—something I’ve been meaning to do for ages, but nothing has yet pulled me in.

At first, the low poly aesthetic drew me in. Admittedly, it’s cute.

But the UI is rough. Just the act of trying to equip your character is difficult. And it’s not as though I haven’t tried before. So this one is a “No” for me.

However, the community is interesting. Lots of Asian folk hanging around, particularly Filipinos. Seeing Tagalog in chat—even if I couldn’t understand it—was neat.

I appreciate this is a hobby project made by people who just want to relive the glory of '00s era MMORPGs. And I think that people who love it are probably enthralled. But I can almost feel the time sink, so I’ll let others enjoy it.
