Let that sink in.
@randahl The ship is turned away upon reaching a German port. They circle around after being denied entry to Israel and other countries, only being allowed to dock in Greenland months before the US invasion.

@randahl can't believe how the turns have tabled and that all this
happens again

@randahl Idk if this is the best decision. Since Germany strictly follows USA (and has #AFD in its starting positions for next election). But as we say "In der Not frisst der Teufel Fliegen." (Desperate times call for desperate measures.) Atm it is more save in Germany than in the USA.
I wish all the people good luck and success with their papers and safe travels.

@bufalo1973 @_davd @randahl
And the best thing about it they will not vote for the wrong parties. You are welcome! -

@randahl Reminds me of the time Syrians were fleeing to Iraq, circa 2010-2011

@bufalo1973 Schengen is not the whole EU. Ireland is not in it. Cyprus is not in it. Non EU countries are in it. Anyway, It’s mostly about travel and not residence. But you can live in any EU member country plus a few others if you are an EU citizen. Which is what I think you meant.

Given that the AfD now has around 20% of the vote here (and another big party has really problems to keep themselves away from the far right) ... while I understand their reasons, I'd recommend to read up a bit on current German politics first.
Make no mistake: As far as I am concerned they're welcome. But I'd really see "back to Germany" as a Hail Mary pass, if I were them.

@glitzersachen @marcel @randahl He's using the swiss cheese model of security architecture, but to achieve his promised savings, has reduced the layers to one.

@glitzersachen @randahl We'll be happy to welcome them in Greece.

@me_valentijn @randahl I agree with you, but I would strictly distinguish between Israels politics and Jews that flee a country. These people need our help. Like everyone else whose lives are threatened by #MAGA and #ICE

@randahl I did it during the first Trump regime. It’s an incredibly ironic thing. But I am here because my grandfather made the choice to leave Germany in time. Options protect us. Reclaiming them is liberating and healing.
