This is a pretty big stretch. It is not a human right that “everyone must call you by your chosen name”. That is a matter of respect. The person you’re responding to likewise brings up the point of respect. Like it or not respect isn’t a human right.

Deadnaming a trans person is equivalent to telling them they are not who they say they are. If you deadname a trans woman as some sorta “gotcha” because they disagree with you, even if their rhetoric and actions harm the very community they’re a part of, that’s not far off from being the type to say “YWNBAW”.

Their name is inherently connected to their identity. It’s one thing to call Caitlyn some smarmy Trump-esque name like “kookie Caitlyn”, or some other feminine name that isn’t hers to mock her like “Candace” or “Karen”, but in using her birth name/deadname, you are basically telling a trans person that their identity as their gender is invalid, and that they are only seen as the gender they identify with when they agree with you.

Instead of saying “you will never be a woman”, it says “you are only a woman when I feel like you deserve to be one”.

Where are people seeing these deep fakes of Carney? Is it only on youtube? I was paying for YouTube premium prior to January but stopped with the boycott US movement and moved to the app Unwatched, highly recommend it has all the personal benefits of youtube premium without the personal costs!

All over YouTube on Android for the last couple of weeks at least. I report them as scams but they keep coming.

That said, Newpipe deals with it.

I prefer pihole as it blocks most ads and trackers across my LAN. When I saw hours much crap was being tracked on my “smart TV” I disconnected it immediately. When I look at the stats every once in a while I am amazed. Last night I was going all gung hoe at making sure everything on canyoublockit.com.

I also am very proud to say that I do not see most of the junk mail sent to me, without using a junk mail filter.

I used pi-hole for a long time but then simplified by using Unbound blocklists on my OPNsense router. These days there are a few different options for network-wide ad blocking.

              Revanced.app

Takes less than five minutes to mod your existing YT app to block ads (and sponsor segments). But if you don’t want to even do that then just PM me and I’ll build the apk for you and send it.

You don’t have to waste your life away on ads; there is a better way.

Same I have reported a few of them already, YouTube is very slow to do anything about stuff like this.

I was seeing ads for months claiming Elon was giving his fortune to Canada and Trudeau was handing it out to people who signed up on a ‘totally legit’ website. Kept reporting them, but they kept showing up. YouTube doesn’t care about the ads they serve, about who gets scammed by stuff life this, as long as the cheque clears from the advertiser they’re happy to intentionally live in ignorance until they can’t ignore the reports.

Kaitlyn supports trans rights for herself, nobody else matters to her. So she deserves no respect at all. I won’t deadname her but that is my choice. She is a dumbfuck selfish cunt and that cuntiness knows no gender.

Okay, so let’s take that same logic and apply it elsewhere.

Kanye West is an out and proud nazi. Do I have the right then to call him the hard r because I disagree with him?

I am aware that there are other whole LAN blockers I hope I didn’t come off as saying pihole was the only option, or even the best for everyone.

No, I didn’t mean to sound like I was challenging your advice - just adding my support for Pi-hole and mentioning another option that does a similar thing.

You also need Enhancer for YouTube (not available on Firefox Android) and SponsorBlock to mimic a fraction of YT ReVance’s power.

On a side note, Kyle from Secular Talk is based and tells like it is. Primarily grass roots funded and has been pushing candid leftist talking points for a long time. I always recommend him for coverage of US politics when I get a chance.

Google has all that fancy content ID. They choose not to use it to stop these deepfake scams, and they should be held liable for it.
