    Brey, we have had a grand total of 3 types of capitalism in our history:

    the slave trade, wartime weapons economy, and petrodollar capitalism.

    Which one would you like to replace the current oil capitalism with?

    Right. So, we can just stop talking about capitalism without oil - because A) that is not happening, rich ppl are rich because of booked reserves we haven't even pulled out of the ground yet, they will not become poorer to save you and B) every other option sucks too.

      @AnarchoNinaWrites

      I dunno - I feel that "Rentier Anticircumvention Capitalism" is a distinct type, although of course quite a few of the same assholes are involved as in Petrodollar Capitalism.

        @juergen_hubert How much energy does an AI data center require? And where does that energy come from?

          Oh, this existed before AI and functions independently from AI. All you need is cryptographic software keys which will only unlock functions of software or hardware you bought if you pay extra for them.

          And, of course, you need to make it illegal to circumvent them - which the USA has made a priority in their trade agreements for the last decades.
