The CPL Final actually survived the first half. Absolute miracle.

You can’t see the lines. Players are skating more than running. The ball keeps freezing in place like it’s filing a workers’ comp claim.

But this is the greatest, most entertaining soccer match I’ve ever watched. Pure chaos. Pure drama.

I want the second half. I want extra time. I want this nonsense every year.

@atomicpoet In 90ties and early 00 we had a lot of white matches in Poland , also a lot of matches in winter in european cups were in snow.

And for here i cant understand why there were no plowed areas near lines, Also red ball were used.

Now with all that XXI century inventions: mixed (plastic and natural) grass, heated pitches, all that stuff that is covering all the grass between matches... we have green pitches all year long and its ... so boring

wikiyu We don’t have any of those inventions here in Canada. Soccer isn’t that big. Teams have a hard enough time just getting proper turf.

But I agree, it is entertaining as hell—and I love it.

@atomicpoet This reminds me of being a kid in Washington state. We'd end up having games in the snow by the end of the season.

In 1980's short soccer shorts, your legs would be red as tomatoes. Your cleats would be soaking wet by the end of the game. Need to do a throw-in? Good luck feeling your fingers.

The coach would bark, "Are you cold? You are not running enough!"

@atomicpoet It says something that the score is 1-1 and that *still* sounds like the most exciting game of the decade.
