Let me repeat what I’ve said before: I wasn’t part of that conversation between WelshPixie and Kainoa. I wasn’t present. Even the screenshot confirms I was a non-participant. So I can’t speak to whether it was real or not.
Was Kainoa lying or telling the truth? I don’t know. Only Kainoa and WelshPixie can answer that.
What I do know is that I’ve always liked Kainoa. I donated over $1,000 to support his work on Firefish/Calckey—including after that whole flame war. And if he were still developing Fediverse software, I’d probably still be donating.
As for Eris’ server? I didn’t defederate her. She defederated mine—after I asked her to post an anti-racist statement. Her response? Defederation.

You should have the guts to say that you believe Kainoa.
You should have the guts to clearly reject WelshPixie, the person who made those obviously homophobic and transphobic attacks against your partner in a successful campaign to destroy the project that *you* were working on.

If that happened to my partner, in an attempt to destroy a project that I was working on with them, I would stand the fuck up against that obvious harassment.
I would call the people involved out.

Regardless, after that event happened, I worked hard to get firefish.social off many blocklists. I successfully accomplished most of that—though not all because, by that point, certain people were not going to remove firefish.social regardless.
Also, I definitely had to deal with a stalking and harassment campaign. Lots of death threats came at me. So much so that I stopped talking about the Fediverse for almost a year.

I am asking you to say that you don't believe the bigot with the long history of anti-queer harassment on fedi, who was (at that time) leading the harassment campaign against you as well.

You're allowed to stand up for the gay teenager you're working with, when they're being attacked out of nowhere by some forty-year-old bigot from the UK.
It's not normal to demand some impossible standard of proof from victim of a coordinated harassment campaign.
You have always been allowed to just trust Kainoa.
That is the normal thing to do.
