This is a stupid comment, I will not elaborate further why. Look at similar comments before you get a bandwagon going.

Bitcoin scams are busted all the time, because they don’t understand how to use the correct process to stay anonymous.

If you wanna keep personally insulting me, go ahead but I’m not falling for “BS propaganda” I’m talking from experience. If you use the right tools the only way you will ever get caught with Bitcoin is when you make a withdrawal.

Tracing Bitcoin is possible I admit but tying it to a person is impossible until you go to pick up.

As for the original topic on regulation, I’ll stand my ground. You can try to regulate but they internet will always find a work around. Always has, always will.

If your just talking about YouTube and Meta than our ideas of the internet is very, very different. The internet isn’t tied to big corperations like you think, those are just the ISPs the majority uses.

      Just to be clear here:

      1. We’re all too old to understand anything. BUT…
      2. You’re speaking from far more tech experience than any of us have.

      Yeah. Sounds reasonable.

The ONLY way children have access to the internet* is if an adult buys a device and hands it to them. The vast majority of kids under 14 is not gonna scrape up enough money for a mobile device that they can use to connect to a free hotspot and be online 24/7. Any internet related bad behaviour is 100% the fault of negligent parents who give their children unfiltered access to the murder, rape. racism and bigotry firehose that is the modern internet.

          That’s it.

My friends with kids all monitor and control internet access very closely. And before you say “BuT tHaTs A lOt Of WoRk” them maybe you should not have kids. It is a decision to make and raise a new conscious mind, if that seems too hard then don’t fuckin do it.

*access at school is monitored and hardly equivalent to the hours a day spent scrolling at home.

It’s unbelievable how little we’ve done to regulate social media and allowed it to damage society.

Dalhousie researcher says social media influencers like Andrew Tate affecting student behaviour

THATS THE least of thier problems, its on the parents, and the kids are probably watching right wing influencers on thier non-school hours. as you know its also crucial for RW governments to have access to a pipeline of conservative men, mysogyny plays a big role and attacking education.

Sometimes it is difficult for parents to limit access of their kids to social media, but they surely can control the narrative.

Talk to your kids and mold their opinion on things, can prevent them from falling for the crap online.

And what happens when the wrong people get in power and use that regulation to their advantage to prevent their opposition from being heard?

That’s how you end up with Fascism

Maybe we should focus on educating the population to be aware of the danger so they don’t fall for it instead of just throwing pointless policy at it

I don’t think it’s helpful to have called the take stupid, because parents have a role and have a responsibility to be vigilant, but I think blaming ONLY the parents is also too extreme. It’s more like smoking. Kids are resourceful and can get access from friends, trick their parents (especially if they’re not tech savvy) with things like multiple accounts, etc. A lot of the blame lies in the tech companies and there’s a need for better regulation. We have age limits for smoking, drinking, driving, etc. and don’t expect only parents to be involved in that protection. The same should be true for phones/social media.

its mostly on the parents, a good one usually dont let them have one until there in thier late or mid teens not before. or the parents that WAITED too long to finally start raising thier children, and embarrasing them in public. i had a parent that did that when i was in HS, came to the school often to “moniter” his son, and was making remarks how she cared about his son more than ours, we were thinking "bitch you waited too long to raise him, and waited til he almost graduated in the same semester to FINALLY change him, he already set his mind on doing the bare minimum, you shouldve done that before he was in high school, by the time you reach sophmore and junior its already too late, thats when you are planning college and studying the SAT tests, and career field.

So the country being run by corporate interests, eliminating the stay at home parent, is an excuse for all parents to be technologically ignorant, and negligent of their children’s online activity?

Uh, if a parent gives their kids smokes, booze or car keys before they are of age it is 100% on the parent.

Parenting is the act of instilling values and teaching the ability to reason out whether a behaviour or decision is appropriate. That includes whether or not to drive a car without a license, whether or not to drink when underage and whether or not it is appropriate to tell your teacher to get back in the kitchen.
