@Da_Gut what constrains the good gods from fixing everything?

Do the strife and evil take on actual forms (evil spirits, demons, etc) from their hearts, or is it just people doing bad things(tm)?

@aeduna oh, and the gods cannot intervene directly in the world. That’s pretty standard in fantasy TTRPGs. So they would have to work through their agents.

I was wondering if you had idle thoughts as to why it might be in this case... imprisoned away, vs would accidentally ruin it vs "its more of a guideline"..

@aeduna a commonly given reason is that they can actually interfere in the world. But when they did not have a compact not to things were a hell of a lot worse. That would mean in this case that even though good there are some serious conflicts between the gods, which is certainly feasible because just because something is good does not mean it gets along with another thing just because it’s good.

@Da_Gut @aeduna Perhaps they really believe in free will instead of determinism.

@Da_Gut @aeduna The idea would be that omnipotent and omniscient deities would be inherently deterministic since they know every outcome of everything before it happens. It takes a lot of theological/philosophical work to make free will work in that context (and I say that as a Catholic).
