Release on the SEGA Genesis in 1990, ESWAT: City Under Siege is a run-‘n-gun platformer that’s clearly inspired by RoboCop. In fact, the Japanese name is ESWAT: City Under Siege

At the time of release, people were amazed by its incredibly detailed backgrounds. But for me, what stands out is just the overall vibe. Especially once your character is given his power suit.

And if that’s not enough, you eventually have a jet pack too!

While it has some aesthetic similarities to RoboCop, it plays like a cyberpunk version of Shinobi. Which is fine by me!
