The core of this is: billionaires believe your net worth determines your worth as a person. Thus, if you have no net worth, you have no worth as a person. Plus, they also believe government is only as good as it puts money in their (own) pocket, and any expenditures of government which do not personally benefit them, is "waste". This is just the embodiment of that philosophy when they are running government. (it us to be "of the people, for the people", it's now "of the billionaires, for the billionaires ONLY")
